Why pick & drop
Why Pick & Drop Makes Learning Easier in Abbottabad
Abbottabad is a hilly city with busy bazaars and limited public transport between neighbourhoods. Getting to a driving class can take longer than the class itself. Pick & drop removes that problem.
No travel before class.
You don’t arrange a rickshaw, wait for a lift or walk to the branch. Your class time is spent driving.
Fewer missed lessons.
When the instructor comes to you, it is much easier to keep your schedule and finish your course on time.
You learn on your own roads.
Lessons start from your street, so you practise on the roads you will drive every day: your bazaar, your school run, your route to work.
Safer and more comfortable for women.
Female students can start and finish every lesson at home, with a female instructor.
Easier for students and working people.
You don’t need to fit travel time around college or office hours.
Our branch is at Jadoon Plaza, Phase 2 Road, Jinnahabad. You are welcome to visit for walk-in admission, but with pick & drop you never have to come back for your lessons. For the full list of courses and what we teach, see our main driving school in Abbottabad page.
Step by step
How Our Pick & Drop Service Works
Getting started is simple:
1
Register.
Join through walk-in admission at our Jinnahabad branch, or through online admission by messaging us on WhatsApp at 0315 8178003.
2
Share your location.
Tell us your area, your exact location and the times that suit you.
3
Agree your schedule.
We confirm your course, start date, class time and pick & drop charge before your first lesson.
4
Your instructor arrives.
Your instructor comes to your home in the training car at the agreed time.
5
Learn on real roads.
Your lesson starts from your street and moves on to busier roads as your skills improve.
6
Dropped back home.
When the lesson ends, you are dropped back at your door.
On your first lesson, your instructor gives you a short briefing on the car’s controls before you start driving, so you are never simply put behind the wheel and left to work it out.
Areas we cover
Areas Covered by Pick & Drop in Abbottabad
Our instructors pick up learners from these nine areas. If you live close to our Jinnahabad branch, you will usually have more choice of class times.
- Jinnahabad
- Supply
- Mandian
- Kehal
- Cantt
- PMA Road
- Kakul
- Nawanshehr
- Havelian
Jinnahabad and Supply
Jinnahabad is where our branch is based, so learners here get the shortest pick-up times and the most flexible slots. Supply is next door. Learners from both areas usually start on quieter side streets before practising in the busier bazaar.
Mandian and Kehal
Learners in Mandian are close to the Karakoram Highway (KKH), so they get early experience of highway traffic once they are ready. Kehal learners usually begin on calmer local roads and move on to the main road as their confidence grows.
Cantt, PMA Road and Kakul
The Cantt area has wide, well-marked roads, which suit the first few lessons. Learners from PMA Road and Kakul get longer stretches and gentle slopes for building speed control and smooth braking.
Nawanshehr
Nawanshehr’s climbs and bends give learners regular hill practice: starting on a slope, controlling speed downhill and parking safely on a hill.
Havelian
We also pick up learners from Havelian, further down the KKH. Because of the distance, we plan Havelian pick-up times carefully, so send us your exact location when you register.
Not in this list? WhatsApp us your location and we will tell you straight away whether we can reach you. For our other cities, see our driving school locations page.
Charges
Pick & Drop Charges
Pick & drop is a small extra charge on top of your course fee. The amount depends on how far your home is from our Jinnahabad branch: areas close to the branch cost less than areas further away, such as Havelian.
We confirm the exact pick & drop charge on WhatsApp before your first lesson, so there are no surprises. Your course fee stays the same whether or not you choose pick & drop.
For how pick & drop works across all our branches, see our pick & drop service page.
For women
Pick & Drop for Ladies
Many families in Abbottabad choose pick & drop specifically for their daughters, wives and sisters. At Makkah Driving School, female students are taught by female instructors, and male students by male instructors. With pick & drop, a female learner can start and end every lesson at home without travelling alone.
Our female instructors are trained in-house before they teach. To learn more about how we teach women, see our ladies driving school in Abbottabad.
